The Wentworth Inn , located in Jackson NH is a great little hotel located near the White Mountains. If you like to ski, the hotel is only a few minutes from Bretton Woods. I can’t say enough nice things about this place. The restaurant was fantastic, our room was extremely large and very comfortable. We even had a private hot-tub within its own “turret” room (check out the picture). The price was reasonable as well. We ended up paying about $250 for a night that included a full multi-course dinner as well as breakfast in the morning.

My one complaint – no “still in theaters on-demand movies”. Yes, maybe it is pathetic, but when we get away, most of the time we just want to sit around in the hotel room, get room service and watch movies, preferably movies that are still in theaters since we hardly ever get out to the movies these days. They do have a DVD player in every room though, so we brought some with us for entertainment and all was well. If you’re the type of person that actually goes out and “does” stuff while on vacation, this is probably not really relevant to you.
